28 Years Later Trailer Is A White Knuckle Sequence Of Action And Terror

28 Years Later is the long-awaited third installment of 28 Days Later. Several zombie movies come and go each year, but this one has stayed in our memory as it has a special purpose.

By the name, it is very much understood that the virus that broke out some years ago is still present. What happened 28 days after the outbreak? What happened 28 weeks later? And now, how would it be 28 years later?

All the questions will be answered once the film is released. But for now, much of the chills and anxiety are here to serve you in the 28 Years Later trailer.

Plot details of 28 Years Later

It is obvious that the movie takes place 28 years after the events of the first two movies. The village island depicted in the trailer is heavily infected with the virus. There are barricades built around the village, which are apparently to avoid the infected people.

The non-infected ones are still struggling to protect themselves and their families from the zombie-like creatures after nearly three decades. The infected village is kept separate from the mainland, but the risk still looms.

The precarious mission is still on. The adaptation, evolution, and survival of mankind in the world of zombies still exist, which creates the maddening horror of a full-body assault.

Even a priest is seen losing his mind in church, calling all the zombies by saying, “Yes, my children”. It is a sheer portrayal of the post-apocalyptic despair, generating bone-breaking insanity.

What is the 28 Years Later trailer about?

The brain-melting 2-minute 10-second trailer has been released. Most of the trailer gives us glimpses of the havoc that zombies have created throughout the lands. The eye-popping and anxiety-inducing shots of the film have already created a buzz online for the forthcoming fervid emotional journey.

The glass-breaking zombies are as fast as lightning, they don’t have a pinch of guilt while decorating their lands with human skulls. The trailer sure gives the creeps that the third is going to be truly messed up.

It would be fascinating to see whether the mainland people will defeat the virus this time, or the zombies will take over the mainland, leaving us to crave another sequel afterward? With a possible title “28 decades later”?

Aaron Taylor-Johnson opened up about working on 28 Years Later

It’s a breath of fresh air to see Aaron Taylor-Johnson in 28 Years Later. He described his experience working on the 28 Years Later sets as “extraordinary.” He explained,

“I feel like there’s not enough vocabulary to articulate how extraordinary this shoot was. I had one of the most incredible experiences on set ever…I think that’s because Danny Boyle is an absolute legendary filmmaker and director. The enthusiasm, his energy is like, ‘Wow’.” [Source]

He credited the director’s energy that infused an electric spark into him and inspired him to “be an actor” again. It was like falling in love with acting all over again.

It is rumored that the trailer was shot with an iPhone, as he confessed that it made him “feel vulnerable” when someone stuck an iPhone in his face. Although the film shooting was intense and everyone was going wild, the pressure of keeping your emotions intact was equally stressful.

The fact that Jamie, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, is married to Isla, played by Jodie Comer, is a significant clue. Together, they are raising a son named Spike and spending their survival tenure in the zombie-infected lands. They have to navigate through the deadly property among the horrendously infected ones.

Jodie Comer’s thoughts on 28 Years Later

The Killing Eve actress has clearly stated that this sequel would be even scarier than the previous two, as per Men’s Journal. She admitted that she genuinely felt that she was running for her actual life, as the stunts were so bona fide.

The zombies felt real and didn’t give her the time to think that it was part of her acting sequence. Still, the frenzy was enjoyable for her, and the director Boyle “loved” her performance.

Moreover, she has been preparing for her role in the most surprising way. She has been trying to learn the Newcastle accent for her role as Isla in the film, cited by The Independent. Even fans were amazed to learn that she is originally from Liverpool.

Fans’ expectations from the trailer

Fans have been going ga-ga over the trailer of 28 Years Later, as one of them stated that “this is how a trailer should be done”- one of the comments under the YouTube trailer section.

The trailer is intriguing enough to show a bombardment of some of the most throat-gagging shots of the film while still retaining the interest for the rest of the flick. Another one cited,

“Finally, after some years, someone understood that trailers have its own art….This is how you make a proper trailer.” [Source]
