2025 is the year of horror, for sure! We have already seen a couple of horror flicks that have blown our minds away, and we still have to overcome the wonderment these films have left us with.
We still need to prepare ourselves for the upcoming horror movies of 2025, for which trailers are coming occasionally. Each one of them is as terrific as the other. It’s really hard for us to keep our excitement levels down. And we are left with no option but to wait.
Movie Insiderz has compiled a list of all the horror movies 2025 with their previews so you can mark your calendars for your favorite ones.
Companion– January 31, 2025
This sci-fi horror film has Sophie Thatcher as an AI companion robot who turns the tables as she tries to escape her human boyfriend. She realizes that her beau does not have good plans for her, and she decides to teach him and his friends a lesson.
Heart Eyes– February 7
This unique horror flick came just before Valentine’s Day, giving us chills for the day of love. The co-workers, Olivia Holt and Mason Goodings, are misunderstood as a couple. The Heart Eyes killer wants to transform every couple into a symbol of fear. Cupid’s Day shall turn into a hellhole.
The Monkey– February 21
The movie is an adaptation of Stephen King’s short story about a toy monkey. Theo James is seen in a double role- the two estranged twin brothers. They both plan to get rid of the cursed monkey who has been haunting them since their childhood days. But the monkey does not agree with them.
The Rule of Jenny Pen– March 7
Have you ever thought of a dementia doll, a source of comfort for the patients, giving you the scares for life? Geoffrey Rush is a stroke patient who is partially paralyzed, living in a retirement home, while John Lithgow likes to terrorize the residents with his dementia doll.
Opus– March 14
After bizarrely disappearing for 30 years, a pop star (John Malkovich) invites the media to his cult compound. A young writer (played by Ayo Edebiri) finds herself caught in a circle of intoxicated journalists and discovers the sinister secrets of the entire plan.
Revelations– March 21
The film is a battle between the beliefs of two people. A pastor who thinks that a missing girl is the doing of a criminal and a detective who is struggling with the haunting past of her dead sister are both fighting the same case. The visions of the pastor and detective guide them to pursue the case in their own eerie ways.
The Woman in the Yard– March 28
A woman, all covered in black attire, appears in the yard of a family out of nowhere. She keeps giving them cryptic messages but does not tell them why she is here. A widowed, injured, and grieving mom needs to protect her kids from the woman in their yard.
Drop– April 11
As a mother, it is always her children first, right? A single mom (Meghann Fahy) finally gets to date her online love (Brandon Sklenar). Soon, she starts receiving threatening messages that she should kill the man in front of her or lose her son. What do you think she is going to do?
Hell of a Summer– April 18
The Stranger Things star, Finn Wolfhard, stars in the horror comedy, which is also co-directed by him. The story is about a 24-year-old camp counselor, Jason Hochberg (Fred Hechinger), who feels he is disconnected from his teenage co-workers. The masked killer is lurking in the woods, and the counselor is unaware of it.
Sinners– April 18
Sinners has already blown the cinemas away as Ryan Coogler’s Southern-style horror flick has got Michael B. Jordan’s double role. The siblings return to their hometown to open a juke joint. But they have to encounter some menacing inhabitants with an evil force.
Until Dawn– April 25
The video game adaptation has mixed reviews, but overall a good watch. Clover decides to find her lost sister in a remote valley where she disappeared a year ago. She and her friends find themselves stuck in a never-ending loop of being murdered, forced to live the terror unceasingly, and each time it’s more ruthless.
Final Destination: Bloodlines– May 16
The sixth installment is coming after a long wait of 14 years, and the trailer has already set the mood! Desperate to put an end to the endless path to death, a student is on the hunt to find one person who knows how to break this cycle. The title hints that it runs in the family, and the bloodline needs to be protected.
28 Years Later– June 20
The harrowing trailer of 28 Years Later made some waves with the unsettling poem heard in the background- a perfect match to set the vibes for the upcoming zombie infections. The plague is returning, and the survivors will again be seen on the island filled with the same rage.
M3gan 2.0– June 27
She is coming back and is smarter this time. We saw that Megan went all over the place, killing anyone who came in her way to protect Gemma’s niece, Cady. Gemma (Allison Williams) is a high-profile author who helps the government with her AI insights. A more high-tech robot is on the loose now, and they need Megan’s help. Should we trust her again?
I Know What You Did Last Summer– July 18
So many horror sequels are having comebacks to die for. Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt are the original cast members of 1997’s IKWYDLS. This time, a group of friends decides to keep the accident that resulted in the death of someone a secret, just like it happened in the first part. They take help from the survivors of the 1997 massacre.
The Conjuring: Last Rites– September 5
We have been in love with the true-life investigative diaries of Ed and Lorraine Warren, and the latest installment of the franchise is based on another of their story. A teaser has been released recently for their “last terrifying case” of the Smurl family, but no specific plot details have been disclosed yet.
The Strangers: Chapter 2– September 26
The Strangers: Chapter 2 will continue with the story of part 1 survivor, Madelaine Petsch’s character Maya. A couple’s cross-country trip becomes a disaster as they have no choice but to stay in a remote Airbnb, where their lives become hell.
Keeper– October 3
No trailer has been released yet for Osgood Perkins’ another horror film, Keeper, after two brilliant features, Longlegs and The Monkey. However, plot details have been shared that state the story will be based on a couple’s romantic anniversary getaway to an isolated cabin. And we know there is always a malevolent presence in such a cabin…ALWAYS! But this one has a special, uncanny touch from Perkins.
Black Phone 2– October 17
Based on a short story written by Joe Hill, the film is a sequel to 2021’s The Black Phone. Ethan Hawke is expected to make a comeback in Scott Derrickson’s thriller. No particular details for the plot are present at the moment, but the director teased that Derrickson has “a solid idea for the sequel”, as cited by Bloody Disgusting.
Frankenstein– November

Guillermo del Toro is retelling the classic story of Frankenstein but instilling his own magic. The latest released photo shows Oscar Isaac as the mad scientist Victor Frankenstein, who loves making life out of death. We are yearning for other detailed pieces of information about the film, and we think we have to wait for that. Â
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2– December 5
Without any hardcore details on the film’s plot, the teaser shows more crazy survival adventure among the creepy animatronics at Freddy’s pizzeria. The official synopsis has no explicit details, however, the teaser does specify that “They are everywhere”.
Which horror movies 2025 are you most excited to watch?
Have you seen the trailer of any of these movies yet? We cannot wait to watch Final Destination: Bloodlines as it took the heart out of our chests with its first teaser. The Conjuring: Last Rites would be interesting too as the the real story of the Smurl family is quite intriguing, and also that the film will be a goodbye to the franchise.
28 Years Later and I Know What You Did Last Summer are coming after a long hiatus. The anticipation is at an all-time high already.
