John Wick 5 Will Be Very Different, Teases Chad Stahelski

We have seen John Wick dying in John Wick 4, and we still don’t know how the story of John Wick 5 will be. But one thing is for sure, John Wick 5 will be very different, teased the director of the biggest action franchise, Chad Stahelski.

We don’t mind seeing more John Wick mess as we are hungry to see Wick return. The fans should expect a different world this time, as we have had much of the High Table discussion in the last four parts.

Chad Stahelski sheds light on John Wick 5

While talking to Empire, Stahelski revealed that the High Table story is over, and for Wick to return, a new story needs to be crafted. He said,

“The only way to do a 5 is to have a new story that involves John Wick. It’s not a continuation, with the High Table.” [Source

Based on the plot of the film and the previous parts, Wick is over with his grief, and there is something that he is going to deal with. What it would be will be unfurled in the trailer.

The director assured that once the trailer goes on air, the fans will be like “Holy f***! I gotta see that!”

In what ways John Wick 5 will be very different from earlier chapters?

Certain theories hint at the direction John Wick 5 could take us. John Wick is known for his grief. It is an extreme undertaking of the death of his wife and the dog that she had gifted him that led him to become an over-the-top action killer.

However, this is the very identity that fans loved. They were able to connect with him as everyone had dealt with grief at least once in their life, one way or the other. And that is how, the character made so much sense to the people, leading it to earn more than $1 billion worldwide.

Fans think that John Wick 4’s ending was satisfactory, as the saga was given a fine conclusion. However, it was still unclear whether Wick was dead or not. There is a possibility that John Wick 5 might show Keanu Reeves’ reprise as Wick.

On the contrary, there is one more possibility. John Wick 5 could show the origin story of John Wick, but for that, de-aging Wick will be a challenge. Although with advanced technology today, it is no longer a problem but there are limitations.

Also, John Wick’s animated film is based on the story before the timeline of John Wick 1. It all hangs together, why this story is going to be an animated version, since showing a younger Wick wouldn’t be a hassle in animated form.

John Wick animated film has the liberty of showing the action sequences that are not possible in a real-time film, as it will be “highly stylized with defined action”. One more detail is that it will be aimed at more mature audiences.

It all depends on whether Stahelski wants Keanu Reeves to undergo those de-aging techniques or whether he wants to give us a brand new John Wick who has overcome his grief gracefully.

What to do before John Wick 5 lands?

Meanwhile, other stories from the Wick-verse are coming your way, which include the John Wick animated film that will be based on the life of Wick before John Wick 1, and a spin-off feature named Ballerina

No specific release date has been given for the John Wick animated film, but you can watch Ballerina on June 6, which has a small role for Keanu Reeves as the legendary John Wick.

Already planning to see it twice? Because we surely are. Let us know in the comments.
