Eyes up here! Says the new Superman, played by David Corenswet, and he got us rolling. We are definitely loving it! The new Superman trailer has cleared up many of our doubts, and now we understand what vision James Gunn and Peter Safran had in their minds when they started doing Superman as a part of the DC verse reboot.
People might have criticized Superman screaming in pain when the sneak peek trailer was out, but that is what Gunn had in mind in reality. He wanted people to connect with the characters.
Plot details of Superman
No explicit details are given for the movie’s plot, but we have seen in the trailer that Clark Kent as Superman is trying to hold on to his Kryptonian heritage, which is full of kindness. The world he is now in finds kindness, truth, and justice a bit ‘old-fashioned’.
His survival and emotional bond with the humans of the planet Earth will be seen in the film, but how all the puzzle pieces fit together, we still have to watch the full film for that.
Till then, get a glimpse of what the movie has in store for us via its trailer.
The trailer perfectly reflects the director’s vision
Gunn has made it clear that his new Superman is for the modern generation. Several comments over social media have come up with the statement that Gunn understood the assignment. He brought Superman out as an emotional being and not just a superhero whom we have idolized since our childhoods.
Superman is a symbol of power, but he uses his power for the right thing. Superman was upset during his interview with Lois Lane in the trailer when she kept asking if his actions were justifiable. Corneswet’s Superman was visibly frustrated at being misunderstood, portraying an overwhelming amount of emotional depth to his character.
Gunn knew that Superman is all about making use of his power to save people, doing the right thing at the right time, no matter what other people think, without having to follow rules and regulations.
Superman’s unwavering commitment to help humanity by keeping strong morals is the most ‘Superman’ thing ever! Gunn knew what kind of bold new direction he was going to adopt, despite the initial criticism he and David Corenswet received when the first teaser was released.

An emotional vision for a modern audience
The director wanted it to be an emotional story that would be able to connect with a modern audience. After initial screenings of Superman, he made tweaks, and it seems it worked! He explained previously that when he was first offered Superman, he was ecstatic, and he stood true to it. This is confirmed after we saw the new Superman trailer.
He clarified that this movie will “celebrate kindness and human love”, which is guaranteed by Superman’s own actions. War or no war, Superman is here for one reason: to save humanity. This is the kindness and pure human love Superman is always known for.
Superman as a symbol of kindness and love
Superman has redefined the role’s concept in the superhero universe. He seems above all government rules and restrictions, unlike any other metahuman. During Clark Kent’s interview with Lois Lane (played by Rachel Brosnahan) as Superman, he seems extremely emotional when it comes to saving people’s lives, and he makes sure that his point gets across clearly.
He does not care what is right or what is wrong. He does not care about taking permission from the President or entering another country’s boundaries. He only cared about one thing: people were going to die because of the war. He came out as a genuine personification of the fact that his father cited, “your choices, your actions, that’s what makes you who you are”.
David Corenswet’s Superman wins over skeptics
The teaser had many of us divided, as a war between Snyder fans and Gunn fans was on! The new Superman trailer has removed skepticism regarding the casting of David Corenswet as the new Superman. It was obvious that fans were so in love with Henry Cavill’s Superman that it was hard for them to get used to a new one.
Certainly, this changed everything, and the new Superman trailer now has our hopes restored. The DC verse reboot now seems promising, as superheroes have existed for a while now, but this trailer highlights a story about what it actually means to be a superhero.
But still, we should not jump to conclusions before we see the full feature-length representation of the legendary Superman in cinemas. Of course, this masterpiece deserves a cinema ticket!

What are fans’ reactions to the new Superman trailer?
Fans are high on cloud nine after the release of Superman’s new trailer. They are unable to hold their excitement as they have given their hearts to the most kind and emotionally deep character in the superhero world to date.
One of the comments under the YouTube trailer said,
“It’s so satisfying to see Superman’s essence to intervene simply out of a desire to help—no politics, no agenda, just doing what’s right. I love that they chose to highlight that part of who he is.” [Source]
Being a vulnerable Superman this time has hit the fans differently. He can feel pain, he can feel the misery of people, no matter what geographical region they belong to. He is even getting negative reactions from people. This is a complete new deviation from Superman’s character- more grounded and more relatable- that we have never seen before, and fans are appreciating this persona.
Questions that need answers in Superman’s release
Is Lex Luthor (played by Nicholas Hoult) the President? Because as soon as the name ‘President’ is heard in the trailer, we see Hoult’s face coming into view.
Besides, we still don’t know how Hawkgirl, Mister Terrific, and Green Lantern Guy Gardner fit into the story. It implies that a lot is going on in the film.
Moreover, we are yet to discover why one of the crowd people on the street is throwing rocks at Superman, as he is the one running and saving their lives like crazy! Did Superman actually do something bad?
