The annual event has all the prominent distributors, exhibitors, industry professionals, and movie journalists, all in one place for creating a theatrical experience for the rest of the world.
Several films premiered, including How to Train Your Dragon live-action remake, which gained positive reviews. Besides, there has been another amazing news that popped out right from the event- Keanu Reeves will reprise the role of John Wick in John Wick 5!
Here is a list of every new Lionsgate movie releasing this year, along with other possible releases in 2026.
John Wick spin-off, Ballerina
John Wick has taken over everything this year, we suppose, since its spin-off film, its next fifth installment in the franchise, and an animated film right after John Wick 5 are all in the process.
Ballerina is the spin-off feature that we are all waiting for this year, first of all. The story is entirely different from the John Wick franchise, though it’s deeply related. The events of Ballerina take place between John Wick 3 and 4, and we’ve already seen John Wick himself in the trailer.
The neo-noir action film is based on Eve Macarro’s story who is a titular dancer and steps into the world of assassins to avenge his father’s death. The director clarified that she is not a “female Wick” but gets training from a highly influential criminal syndicate of Ruska Roma.
What happens next, we will get to know once the movie finally hits the theatres.

Of course, the movie is about music, hence, the songs are fantastic as well, sung by Tesfaye. His other marvelous performances are seen previously in After Hours (2020) and Starboy (2016).
According to USA Today, Hurry Up Tomorrow will be accompanied by Tesfaye’s album of the same name. Shults, whom Tesfaye is a great fan, directs the film. Shults knew that music would be clearly taken care of here.

The Long Walk
The Long Walk trailer was released at CinemaCon and shows a group of boys surrounded by military tanks and armed soldiers. The first story, written by Stephen King, is the soul of the film, highlighted by the friendships in the ensemble cast.
But the horror explodes as soon as one of the friends, a young boy, is shot by a soldier. The name of the film expounds on the fact outlined by Mark Hamill’s voiceover that it is a test of stamina with a challenge of a 3 mph long walk. At the end, a monetary prize will be offered but there is no finish line, unless and until only one boy is left.
The Stephen King adaptation is a heartbreaking discovery into humanity’s desperate need for friendship, creating an emotional bond of brotherhood, yet again, facing the fear of loss of loved ones.
