Korean cinema has been gaining popularity over the past decades due to its strong storytelling and quality narrative without any loopholes that make it a perfect fit for the story. Engaging themes and storylines have earned this industry a reputation that is truly commendable.
We have collected some most awaited Korean movies coming to Netflix 2025, which include original productions and spin-offs.
Revelations (release in Q1)
This Netflix original thriller comes from Train to Busan director Yeon Sang-ho, which takes a leap of faith with psychological themes. It was already released on the platform on March 21, 2025, and shows an emotional take on human belief systems.
Revelations begins with a pastor who believes that a missing girl in the area is the doing of a criminal who came to his church one day. On the other hand, a detective is assigned the same case of a missing girl who is fighting with her dead sister’s shadow that keeps haunting her.
The narratives of both sides are brilliantly displayed by the director, shedding light on how one’s own way of thinking changes the way we perceive things, and even affects our consequences.
Lost in Starlight (Q2)
The trailer just got released for this animated romantic story that is releasing on May 30 on Netflix. The director Han Ji-won crafted a vibrant world of affection that unfolds the story of an aspiring astronaut Naan-young and a hesitant musician Jay.
The film is set in 2050, and its official logline of the film states that an astronaut leaves Earth and leaves behind the distance between the two lovers, divided by the stars. Their long-distance relationship spans the cosmos as their hopes and dreams guide them, keeping their love alive for each other.
The visuals seem quite captivating and are close to the themes of modern times with an infusion of retro and cyberpunk styles. Our modern generation will be able to connect emotionally with this sentimental journey of desire and ambition, capturing the right essence of today’s youth.
Mantis (working title) (Q3)
