28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (January 16)
Directed by Nia DaCosta, The Bone Temple is the second instalment in the 28 Years Later trilogy. The story will focus on Spike’s (played by Alfie Williams) story, who joined Jimmy (Jack O’Connell) at the end of 28 Years Later.
Mercy (January 23)
Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson star in a sci-fi thriller where Pratt’s character has 40 minutes to prove his innocence to an AI judiciary for his wife’s murder. Timur Bekmambetov directs the film.
Return to Silent Hill (January 23)
The game’s release in 1991 became an instant fame and the franchise owners decided to release its first film in 2006. The same director is now back to helm its third movie, Return to Silent Hill, which will show the protagonist, James Sunderland (Jeremy Irvine), on a hunt to look for his long-gone love.
Send Help (January 30)
A plane crash has only two survivors- two coworkers on a deserted island where they are left with each other.
Another big problem, apart from being stranded together at an unknown place, is that they cannot “work together.” Now they have to survive, and for that, they have break their own barriers.
The Strangers: Chapter 3 (February 6)
The last part of The Strangers trilogy is going to be released this year, where Madelaine Petsch’s Maya is the only survivor of the masked killers. The killers are not done with her yet, especially after one of their fellow killers is killed by Maya.
Scream 7 (February 27)
The Scream trailer didn’t impress us much, but we are still expecting something exciting from its next instalment since Ghostface has made this personal now. Sidney Prescott’s (Neve Campbell) daughter is in danger, and Prescott will have to face her fears once again.
The Bride! (March 6)
After watching Gullermo del Toro’s visual masterpiece last year, Frankenstein, we are ready for another relevant monster story called The Bride! Directed by Jake Gyllenhaal’s sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal, the film is inspired by James Whale’s 1935 film “Bride of Frankenstein.”
Frankenstein is looking for his life partner, whom he sees in a murdered woman. He takes the help of Dr. Euphronius to resurrect the bride with the backdrop of the Great Depression era, mixed with social movements and political mayhem.
Project Hail Mary (March 20)
Ryan Gosling is playing an astronaut who is forcefully assigned the task of saving the Earth. He wakes up on a spaceship with no knowledge of his past life but needs ot hurry up before the planet dies.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come (March 27)
Ready or Not 2 follows the story after what happened in 2019, where a young bride was trapped in brutal family traditions. Her husband’s family likes to play strange, murderous games with the newcomer in the family, and now she has to fight for her sister.
The Drama (April 3)
The dark comedy film stars Robert Pattinson and Zendaya as an engaged couple who seem uncomfortable in the trailer. Before their wedding day, they are seen in serious doubts and psychological turmoil that might turn the world upside down for them.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (April 3)
Mario and Luigi are ready for another adventure, and this time, it’s cosmic, stretching beyond the Mushroom Kingdom. We will be seeing Princess Peach, Bowser, Toad, and Rosalina for the renowned Nintendo franchise.
Michael (April 24)
The king of pop, Michael Jackson’s story is filmed as a fascinating biopic where the titular role is played by Michael Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson. It will be a chronicle of the first half of Jackson’s career, marking it as the first part. His rise as a solo artist will be highlighted.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 (May 1)
The long-awaited sequel to 2006’s dramedy, The Devil Wears Prada, released its teaser, and we cannot wait to enter the world of fashion once again with Meryl Streep’s Miranda and Anne Hathaway’s Andy.
Hokum (May 1)
Hokum’s teaser has got us hooked right there, and we cannot wait for its release. The horror thriller is directed by Damian McCarthy, who brings the story of Ohm visiting an Irish Inn in hopes of scattering his parents’ ashes. He is caught in a witch’s curse that haunts the very inn.
Mortal Kombat 2 (May 15)
The follow-up to 2021’s adaptation of the titular video game will see Johnny Cage (Karl Urban) team up with other fighters to take on the evil Shao Kahn. The tournament is going to take place in Outworld, and Kahn must be prevented from conquering their realm.
The Mandalorian and Grogu (May 22)
The Star Wars film will hit the cinemas after seven years of waiting. Din Djarin and his apprentice must hunt down Imperial warlords in the post-Empire galaxy, allying with the New Republic.
The film aims to bridge the gap between the series and expand on the lore that reveals Grogu finding a Force artifact in an ancient facility. It can amplify his powers, and the enemies want to exploit these powers.
Masters of the Universe (June 5)
Based on the toy, comic book, and television franchise name, Masters of the Universe will show He-Man having a face-off with Jared Leto’s Skeletor, battling for Castle Greyskull and the planet of Eternia.
The plot revolves around Prince Adam’s origins and his crash-landing on Earth. His memories while growing up as a regular person and finding his power as soon as he finds the sword will blend nostalgia with a modern touch.
Disclosure Day (June 12)
Jurassic World’s writer, David Koepp, is teaming up with Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor for Stephen King’s mysterious UFO film. It will demonstrate humanity’s reaction to the undeniable proof of aliens’ existence, creating global tension.
Scary Movie 6 (June 12)
Scay Movie 6 is expected to follow the franchise’s signature comic horror style. The plot is still under wraps, but the film might bring the same energy as characters dressing up as various characters.
Toy Story 5 (June 19)
Toy Story 5 centers on the contemporary child’s addiction to screens and detachment from the real toys. Bonnie is getting attached to his new tech tablet, and the rest of the toys feel isolated. Woody helps the gang to find their place in a changing world.
Supergirl (June 26)
Kara Zor-El is Superman’s cousin, famously known as Supergirl, who is on a galaxy-trotting quest for vengeance. The recently released teaser shows her devastated version that has been through a traumatic past, having witnessed the brutal deaths of her loved ones around her.
Minions 3 (July 1)
Official plot details of our beloved Minions‘ third instalment are scarce, except that the Minions will be trying to become filmmakers. They could be hopping back in time, where they would face unexpected elements of an unfamiliar time period.
Moana (July 10)
Moana live-action is this year’s one of the most anticipated films coming from Disney. Disney does not have a very good track record for live-action remakes, but with the nostalgic “How Far I’ll Go” in Catherine Laga’aia’s reprised Moana and Dwayne Johnson as Maui, it will surely be a rollercoaster.
The Odyssey (July 17)
The Odyssey is as big as its name. Christopher Nolan’s next is the mega adaptation of the heroic poem by Homer. With a massive star cast, it will feature a 10-year journey of King Odysseus back to his home, where his wife and son wait. He will have to encounter mythical monsters that we are eager to witness come alive on big screens.
Evil Dead Burn (July 24)
Sebastien Vanicek directs Evil Dead Burn and should not be considered a direct sequel to 2023’s Evil Dead Rise. There will be certain connections to the story, but it will be a standalone reboot sequel with new characters.
The plot is unknown, but it is said to have a connected universe.
Spider-Man Brand New Day (July 31)
Tom Holland will wear the Spidey suit once again in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The film is getting bigger with phenomenal appearances of Daredevil, Hulk, and Sadie Sink in an unconfirmed role. Spider-Man is building a new life without past connections, but has to face a new villain.
Clayface (September 11)
Clayface will be getting its first-ever big-screen debut, thanks to James Gunn. Clayface just got its plot details that take us into the life of a Gotham actor, Matt Hagen (Tom Rhys Harries).
Hagen is transformed into a shape-shifting monster after a troubled past, when he was on his way to make his first Hollywood appearance.
Resident Evil reboot (September 18)
Zach Cregger has become a new horror master after the successful theatrical run of Weapons. Resident Evil reboot will be game-faithful, Cregger confirmed, highlighting an ill-fated courier who has the task of delivering a package to a remote hospital.
Verity (October 2)
Colleen Hoover’s one of the best-selling psychological thrillers is getting a film adaptation this year. Verity stars Anne Hathaway in the titular role, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett. The film is about a writer hired to complete a series, but an accident leaves her unable to do so.
Digger (October 2)
Tom Cruise is set to lead Digger, directed by Alejhandro G. Inarritu. The Mission Impossible actor will play “the most powerful man in the world” in a fix to prove to the world that he wants to save humanity.
The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender (October 9)
The Legend of Aang will take place years after the events of 2005’s Avatar: The Last Airbender. Avatar Aang will learn an “ancient power that could save his culture from extinction.” He takes the help of his friends to possess the power before it gets into the wrong hands.
Street Fighter (October 16)
Another 1987 video game adaptation will see a “brutal clash of fists,” prominently known as Street Fighter. The well-known street fighters, Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Akuma, Blanka, Zangief, and many more.
Ryu and Ken are expected to reunite for the World Warrior Tournament. They need to uncover a hidden conspiracy by working together to stop future destruction.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (November 20)
The teaser of Sunrise on the Reaping showed the plot centering on a young Haymitch Abernathy in the 50th Hunger Games. His life in District 12 and strategic placement in the game will be explored that will ultimately shape his future persona.
Narnia (November 26)
Directed by Greta Gerwig, the film will adapt C.S.Lewis’ prequel novel “The Magician’s Nephew”. It will unfold the details of Narnia’s creation, the origins of the White Witch, and how the magical portal came into being.
Jumanji 4 (December 11)
Seven years after the release of Jumanji: The Next Level, the franchise owners have finally decided to work on its next instalment. The returning director, Jake Kasdan, will be working with Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, and Kevin Hart.
The comedic twists of the movies have been loved by fans for decades, but the plot details of its fourth film are still under wraps. It is expected that Jumaji 4 will bring the same energy as the first two instalments.
Avengers: Doomsday (December 18)

Angry Birds 3 (December 23)
The famous game-to-film adaptation, Angry Birds, is getting a Christmas 2026 release date with Mr. Beast and Salish Matter joining the cast. Plot information remains undisclosed at this time, but it is expected to move on with family themes.
Werwulf (December 25)
The initial release of Werwulf is set as December 25 in North America, which is Robert Eggers next highly anticipated film after Nosferatu’s success.
Apart from that, Eggers is working on the horror reimagining of A Christmas Carol. Being a fan of bygone eras and historical details, the film will be set in 13th-century England.
