The Bone Temple– January 16
The Bone Temple is the second installment in the trilogy of 28 Years Later. Directed by Nia DaCosta, it will be the continuation of Spike’s (played by Alfie Williams) story, who joined Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell) at the end of the film’s predecessor.
Later, Spike will learn that Jimmy’s cult-like killings of the zombies are a nightmare that he can’t escape. The trailer is an open invitation to more violence, where Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) is also seen developing a shocking new relationship with the alpha zombie.
Return to Silent Hill– January 23
After the first game’s release in 1991, Silent Hill released a film of the same name in 2006, with the same director now back to helm its third movie. Return to Silent Hill is directed by Christophe Gans, and the protagonist, James Sunderland (played by Jeremy Irvine), is set to look for his long-gone love.

The Strangers Chapter 3– February 6
The trilogy’s last part unveils more threats coming from the masked strangers. In The Strangers: Chapter 2, we saw the death of one of the masked killers, but we still want certainty from Chapter 3 whether the killer is actually dead.
Madelaine Petsch is returning as Maya, the only girl who survived the masked killer in the first part. Of course, the killers are not ready to let her go.
Cold Storage– February 18
Based on David Koepp’s 2019 novel of the same name, Cold Storage shows two young employees of a self-storage company having to face a highly infectious, mutating microorganism.
The micro-organism is stored in the underground level of the same facility that was sold to this self-storage company. With underground temperatures rising, the micro-organism is paving its own way for escape, and it needs to be stopped before it creates an “extinction-level destruction”.
Psycho Killer– February 20

The Bride!– March 6
Jake Gyllenhaal’s sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal, is directing The Bride! which is slated for a release on March 6, 2026. It is inspired by James Whale’s 1935 film “Bride of Frankenstein”.
It is set in the Great Depression era, where Frankenstein’s monster (played by Christian Bale) is looking for his life companion. He recruits Dr. Euphronius (Annette Bening) to resurrect a murdered young woman (Jessie Buckley).
It is a romance mixed with social movements of that time and the attention the couple gains from the police, resulting in an ultimate mayhem.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come– April 10
The first look images of Ready or Not 2: Here I Come have just been released, and it follows after the 2019 story of a young bride trapped in brutal family traditions.
Her husband’s rich, eccentric family plays a game with her, which initially seemed to her a harmless game. However, this was not the case. She had to fight for her survival with all her might.
Official plot details for the film are absent, but it is scheduled to release on April 10, 2026.
Lee Cronin’s The Mummy– April 17
By the name, you might be tricked into thinking that it is probably a reboot of 1999’s famous film, but you are wrong. Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is about a family encountering an ancient mummy. The official plot details are currently under wraps, but it will be a fresh and darker psychological take on the classic monster, as per Deadline.

Evil Dead Burn– July 24
Infested (2023) director Sebastien Vanicek will direct Evil Dead Burn. It should not be considered a sequel to 2023’s Evil Dead Rise, directed by Lee Cronin, despite having connections to it. For clarification, Evil Dead Rise was a standalone reboot sequel that had new characters.
Evil Dead Burn will have a connected universe, but the plot is still unknown.
Clayface– September 11
The first plot details of James Gunn’s DC debut of Clayface have popped in. A Gotham actor, Matt Hagen (played by Tom Rhys Harries), deems his looks as his only path to make his first Hollywood appearance.
Hagen is transformed into a shape-shifting monster after a troubled past catches up with him. He takes help from Dr. Caitlin Bates, for whom the cast has not been confirmed.
Resident Evil reboot- September 18
Weapons (2025) director Zach Cregger is taking his next project seriously as he wants the Resident Evil reboot to be game-faithful and not film-inspired. The synopsis mentions an ill-fated courier, Bryan, who has the task of delivering a package to a remote hospital.
Just like the games, he will have to fight the vile, mutated creatures. The director hasn’t watched any Resident Evil film before, but is a big fan of the game himself.
He assures it will be something that fans have never seen before in previous franchise films, as it will be fun and wild, and viewers will be “stoked”.

Robert Eggers is working on a horror reimagination of A Christmas Carol, along with another horror feature, Werwulf. The film is known to be set in 13th-century England.
A typical Eggers’ style film is dedicated to the bygone eras with his meticulous approach to historical details. The Witch (2015) was set in 1630s New England, The Lighthouse (2019) was set in the 1890s, The Northman (2022) was set in 895 AD, and Nosferatu (2024) was set in the 1830s.
The official synopsis cites a mysterious creature stalking the foggy countryside. The local folklore comes to life as the villagers face the fright of their lives.
Terrifier 4– expected October 2026
Terrifier 4 is expected to be the final installment of the series, with a possible release date somewhere in October 2026. The plot will highlight the conflict between Sienna Shaw and Art.
Although the latter was defeated at the end of Terrifier 3, which is where the search for his origins begins. Of course, as the atmosphere of the film franchise is already set, the film will be full of gore and gruesome kills, but with a spotlight on Art’s backstory.
The Young People– expected sometime in 2026
After the success of Longlegs (2024), The Monkey (2025), and the recently released Keeper (2025), Osgood Perkins has his next horror project in the pipeline for a release in 2026. As the name suggests, The Young People is about middle school friends whose friendship takes a sinister turn after they befriend a new classmate, Kitty.
There is no trailer, and further plot details are largely kept under wraps.
The Exorcist– expected for 2026 but now delayed, possibly will come out in 2027
Scarlett Johansson is going to make her horror debut with The Exorcist reboot. The film will tell a new story in The Exorcist universe and is not a sequel to The Exorcist: Believer (2023). The film will be connected to 1973’s The Exorcist.
Directed by Mike Flanagan, the film will be a radical new take on the horror classic as Flanagan has gained an authentic prestige in the said genre, especially via Doctor Sleep (2019) and the season The Haunting of the Hill House (2018).
Which upcoming horror movies 2026 are you most excited to add to your watchlist?
The Bone Temple, Return to Silent Hill, The Strangers Chapter 3, The Bride, Clayface, Resident Evil reboot, Werwulf, and The Young People are some of the upcoming horror films of 2026 that we are most excited about.
Our excitement grows for The Bone Temple as we want to know about Spike’s fate after he decides to live on the land of zombies. Return to Silent Hill seems interesting as Christophe Gans will be returning to pour in his expertise to the franchise.
The Stranger Chapter 3 instigates us to think whether masked killers will finally see the face of death. Resident Evil reboot with Zach Cregger after the frightful Weapons instills a new wave of horror in the genre.
Werwulf, by Nosferatu director Robert Eggers, will bring a folklore-driven horror with his unique interpretation. The Young People from Keeper director is predicted to carry the same emotionally gripping tone with higher stakes, bigger themes, and bolder storytelling.
